You will lead a variety of Supply Chain Management and Procurement projects across all stages of a project lifecycle from developing a strategy supported by a business case to building and implementing business and potentially IT solutions. Consultants work on client projects, performing a number of activities including:

• Supply chain strategy
• Business case development
• Business Requirements definition
• Solution development
• Project management from planning through to delivery and rollout
• End-to-end process modelling and user acceptance management
• Change management planning and deployment
• Senior client stakeholder management
• Supply Chain Planning and Transformation
• Sourcing and Procurement
• Supply Chain Execution
• Product Life Cycle Management

They work with their clients to ensure the supply chain is viewed as an extensive, highly networked value chain, driven by customer demand and enabling feedback to drive R&D and replenishment decisions  

 

Main Accountabilities  

Management Consulting:

• leads SCM strategy and implementation projects within their accounts
• leads project teams consisting of both consultants and client employees

Engagement Management:

• Manages engagement risk
• Manages project economics including planning and budgeting
• Manages billing and cash collections
• Ensures quality of deliverable content

 Business Development:

• supports sales pursuits within current and new accounts and to help build long term qualified sales pipeline
• develops and maintains contact with top decision makers at key clients
• organises and leads bid teams
• participates or leads aspects of the proposal development process

Knowledge Development:

• supports the development of their SCM solutions
• supports marketing campaigns that improve UK awareness of their SCM offerings
• provides insights into the implications and opportunities that major market trends have on SCM and how these impact their clients

Technical Skills

Knowledge / experience of working with SAP APO, Manugistics or other Advanced Planning Systems and / or network design and inventory optimisation tools

Competencies

• Supply Chain Management and/or Procurement consulting experience with a major consulting organisation or industry experience
• Minimum of 2 full lifecycle SCM/Procurement workstream lead experience for team of a minimum of 5 people
• Experience of managing a project valued at over £250k
• SCM content knowledge across Strategy, Procurement, Planning, Inventory processes aligned to the ability to analyse problems, translating them into business requirements which can then be developed into client solutions
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with senior management level executives both internally and within their clients
• Both sales/account development and delivery experience:
• Capable of consulting proposal development and then onward delivery
• Experience, operationally or project, of Life Sciences / Pharmaceuticals or Defence Industries
• Experience of selling business, played a key role in a team that has won business and /or selling on into existing clients where you are already engaged

Desirable

• SCM experience gained at a top tier consultancy
• Exiting a blue chip company graduate scheme which has provided focus on SCM
• SCM focused projects within industry
• Operational line or Project roles in Procurement, Supply Chain, Operations, Planning
• Experience in Telco, Automotive, Health
